The FCC Orphanage Appeal contributions go far in China. Our programs are extraordinarily cost effective. We fund projects that have the biggest impact on a child’s chances for a better life. Every contribution counts: $25 to $38 supports a baby in foster care for one month, as little as $100 can pay for a child’s school fees for one year, $250 pays for one visiting Granny for six months, and $500 or more pays for one surgery depending on the complexity of the surgery. In 2005, your contributions have supported:
The FCC Orphanage Appeal funds are administered by Families with Children from China of Greater New York and Families with Children from China-New England. FCC of Greater New York funds its projects through the Amity Foundation, a widely respected nongovernmental organization based in Nanjing. FCC-NE implements its programs through the FCC Foundation for Chinese Orphanages, which works primarily through the Adoption Affairs Office in provinces where FCC projects are underway. Neither FCC spends a penny of your contribution on overhead or marketing in the United States. In China, on the average, only 3 cents of every dollar donated goes to administration, as much of the work in China is also done on a volunteer basis. We urge you to read these reports for more detailed information.
